Patna Medical College, Patna.
About the College
Patna Medical College (PMC) began in 1925 as Prince of Wales Medical College. The Government of Bihar later renamed it to reflect its service to the people. Today, it stands among the oldest and most respected medical colleges in eastern India. The college operates under Bihar University of Health Sciences and has approval from the National Medical Commission.
Located in the heart of Patna, the campus blends historic buildings with modern academic facilities. These include digital lecture halls, skill-based labs, demonstration rooms, a dissection hall, and a well-stocked central library. PMC follows the CBME curriculum to ensure early clinical exposure. As a result, students combine academic learning with hands-on training from their first year.
About the Hospital
Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) ranks among India’s largest government hospitals. It houses more than 1,700 beds and serves as a referral center for Bihar and nearby states.
