Admission process at SDM College of Ayurveda

Eligibility Criteria

The first step toward admission begins with meeting the basic requirements. For the BAMS program, students must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. General category applicants need a minimum of 50% marks, while reserved categories receive relaxation as per government rules.

For postgraduate courses, candidates must hold a recognized BAMS degree, complete their compulsory internship, and present a valid registration certificate. Meeting these criteria ensures eligibility to proceed further.

Step 1: Qualify NEET Examination

Admission to BAMS at SDM College of Ayurveda is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Students must register on the NTA website, appear for the test, and secure the required percentile to qualify. NEET usually takes place in May, and results are declared in June.

For postgraduate admissions, students must appear for the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET), which serves as the gateway for MD and MS programs.

Step 2: Register for Counseling

Once NEET results are announced, eligible candidates must register for counseling.

  • For state quota seats, counseling is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
  • For all-India quota seats, the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) manages the process.

Candidates must create an online account, pay the registration fee, and submit academic and NEET details.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

During counseling, students list their preferred colleges. To secure admission at SDM College of Ayurveda, candidates must select it as their top choice. Based on NEET rank, reservation criteria, and availability, seats are allotted.

Students receive provisional allotment letters that they must download and carry during reporting. For PG courses, AIAPGET counseling follows the same procedure, where students choose specializations in Ayurveda.

Step 4: Reporting and Document Verification

Once allotted a seat, candidates must report to SDM College of Ayurveda within the specified timeline. At the college, original documents are verified, including:

  • NEET/AIAPGET scorecard
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Transfer and migration certificates
  • Identity proof and photographs
  • Caste or category certificate (if applicable)
Students must also pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.

Step 5: Application Deadlines

Timely action is crucial.

  • June–July: NEET result declaration and registration for counseling.
  • July–August: Counseling rounds for state and all-India quota.
  • September–October: Admission formalities and commencement of BAMS classes.
  • For PG admissions: AIAPGET results and counseling generally take place between September and November.

Missing these deadlines may result in cancellation of admission, so candidates must track official notifications closely.
