Bapuji Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital Founded in 1996 under the Bapuji Education Society, this reputable institution is situated in a serene locale at Bapuji Campus, T.R. Nagar, Challakere. The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, and is recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). Courses Offered

  • BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) – A 5.5-year course (4.5 years academics + 1-year internship) with an intake of 60 students per year.

Admission Process & Eligibility

  • Entrance Exam: NEET-UG qualification is mandatory.
  • Eligibility: Must have completed 10+2 with PCB and a minimum 50% aggregate (subject to reservation norms).
  • Counselling: AYUSH Central Counselling (AIQ), the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) under the state quota, and the management quota allot seats in the college.

  • Hospital: A 150-bed super-specialty Ayurvedic hospital offering OPD, IPD, Panchakarma therapies, and complex procedures including Kshara Sutra surgeries.
  • Library: Spread across approximately 1,800 sq ft, it houses ~8,100 volumes, multiple journals, multimedia facilities, and a digital library spanning 2,300 sq ft with e-resources.
  • Research & Labs:
    • Herbal Garden: Spanning ~9,000 sq m with 250+ medicinal plant species.
    • Laboratories: Fully equipped as per NCISM norms—covering dissection, anatomy, and other core departments.
  • Auditorium & Classrooms: A 200-seat auditorium, smart classrooms with interactive boards, and an audio-visual hall for seminars and guest lectures.
  • Hostels & Amenities:
    • Separate hostels: 60 beds for male students, 150 for female students, furnished with essentials and offering twin sharing.
    • Dining hall, vegetarian mess, on-campus canteen, sports complex, gym, and transport facilities including college buses and an ambulance.
