About The College
Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College, Sangli, began in 2005 under the parent institution based in Pune. It started with 100 MBBS seats and expanded to 150 by January 2017. The college runs under Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission, with NAAC A+ accreditation. The campus spreads over 75 acres and delivers medical education through the competency-based MBBS curriculum (cbme) introduced in 2019. The MBBS program spans 4.5 years with an additional one-year internship. The college also offers 98 PG seats across 18 MD/MS disciplines, building a strong base in both undergraduate and postgraduate training.
About The Hospital
The teaching hospital at Sangli functions as a major multi-specialty unit with nearly 780 beds. It includes adult icu, picu, and nicu facilities. The college admits 150 MBBS students every year. Seat distribution includes general, nri, and management quotas. Admission takes place through state and mcc counselling procedures. The PG wing houses 98 seats across key specialties such as general medicine, pediatrics, radiodiagnosis, anaesthesiology, and orthopaedics.
