Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur, started in 2001 to strengthen healthcare and medical education in the region. The Government of Chhattisgarh established the college, and it now operates under the affiliation of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (Bilaspur University). It also holds recognition from the National Medical Commission.
The campus provides a well-structured academic environment. It includes digital lecture halls, skill labs, simulation rooms, and a central library. CIMS offers MBBS and MD/MS courses with a curriculum focused on Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME). Students receive early clinical exposure, rigorous academic training, and practical experience across specialties. About the Hospital
The CIMS Hospital, attached to the medical college, acts as a vital health center for Bilaspur and surrounding districts. It operates over 700 beds and includes departments like General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, Orthopedics, ENT, Radiology, and Ophthalmology. The hospital houses critical care units, emergency and trauma care, diagnostic labs, and a blood bank.
Daily patient load offers ample clinical exposure to MBBS students. They participate in outpatient and inpatient services under the guidance of experienced faculty. From their early years, students engage with real-world cases, making their learning both practical and community-oriented.

Seats in College
CIMS Bilaspur offers 180 MBBS seats each academic year. Admission takes place through NEET-UG, based on merit. Out of the total seats, 15% fall under the All India Quota. The remaining 85% are allocated to State Quota candidates, following reservation norms as per Chhattisgarh government guidelines.
