Dharanidhar Medical College & Hospital

About the College & Hospital

Dharanidhar Medical College & Hospital (DDMCH) in Kendujhar, Odisha, began operations in 2022 as a state government medical institution affiliated with Odisha University of Health Sciences. As a tertiary-level medical college and hospital, it delivers integrated academic learning with extensive clinical exposure. The hospital, attached to the institute, offers 500 teaching beds, making it one of the largest healthcare facilities in the Kendujhar district. This strong infrastructure allows the college to cater to both the academic needs of its students and the healthcare demands of the community.

Principal’s Message

Although the Principal’s official message is not publicly available, the college’s motto—Citius Altius Fortius (“Faster, Higher, Stronger”)—captures its dedication to excellence. This vision emphasizes high-quality medical education, advanced healthcare delivery, and continuous institutional growth.

Seats in the College

DDMCH offers 100 MBBS seats each year, as approved by the National Medical Commission. Admissions occur strictly on merit through NEET-UG, with seat allocation managed under Odisha’s state-level NEET counselling process. This ensures transparent and competitive entry for all aspirants.

Mission and Vision

The college strives to produce competent, socially responsible medical professionals capable of addressing diverse healthcare challenges in the region. By blending academic rigor with clinical service, DDMCH aims to raise medical education standards and strengthen healthcare systems across Kendujhar and surrounding districts.

Fees Structure

The MBBS program at DDMCH follows government-regulated fee norms, with annual tuition set at approximately ₹37,950. This makes the program accessible while maintaining quality education standards.

Infrastructure & Campus Life

The campus delivers a comprehensive learning environment with well-designed facilities:

  • A central library housing around 1,783 books and seating for 220 readers
  • A 650-seat auditorium
  • Sports and gym amenities
  • A cafeteria
  • Separate hostels for boys and girls, each charging ₹14,000 per year
  • On-campus staff and nursing quarters
  • Emergency services including ICU, NICU/SNCU, and 24×7 trauma care.
Moreover, in May 2025, the Odisha Chief Minister inaugurated upgraded in-patient and trauma care services at DDMCH, marking a significant enhancement in regional healthcare infrastructure.
