About the College
Government Medical College Chhindwara, also known as Chhindwara Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), started in 2019 to enhance healthcare and medical education in the region. It affiliates with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University Jabalpur and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC). The campus covers 31 acres and offers advanced facilities, including smart lecture halls, demonstration rooms, and a three-story air-conditioned library. Eight research laboratories support scientific learning and innovation. The institution focuses on preparing competent medical professionals through a strong academic and research-driven environment.
About the Hospital
The teaching hospital for the college is the upgraded District Hospital Chhindwara. It currently includes 485 teaching and specialty beds and delivers OPD, IPD, and 24/7 emergency care. Equipped with modern operating theatres, ECG, X-Ray, Pathology, and maternity facilities, it provides essential clinical exposure for students. Plans for a 750-bed hospital on campus aim to enhance healthcare capacity and further improve student training opportunities.

Seats in College
The college admits 100 students each year for the MBBS program. Focus remains on building a strong undergraduate medical foundation. In addition, the college offers nursing and paramedical courses that expand opportunities for healthcare workforce development. Postgraduate MD/MS seats are expected to be introduced as the institution grows.

Fee Structure
The MBBS program tuition fee is approximately INR 1,00,000 per year. One-time refundable caution money is INR 14,000, with annual charges such as library fee (INR 1,000), student welfare fund (INR 500), ID card fee (INR 100), and sports fee (INR 500). Hostel accommodation costs about INR 12,000 annually. A rural service bond requires graduates to serve in rural healthcare centers or pay a penalty of INR 10,00,000 if service is skipped.
