About the College

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Medical College & General Hospital (GMCB) started in May 2019. It is located in Baramati, Pune district, Maharashtra. The Government Medical College Baramati works under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and has recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC). It focuses on providing quality medical education and essential healthcare services for the region. Moreover, it aims to train skilled medical professionals who can serve society with compassion and excellence.

About the Hospital

The college attaches to a General Hospital located within the same campus. This hospital includes subject-specific Outpatient Departments (OPDs), 21 wards, and 13 operation theatres. Students also train at the Women’s Hospital (200 beds) and Silver Jubilee Hospital (100 beds). Together, these hospitals offer 400 beds for patient care and clinical learning. As a result, students gain wide exposure to various medical conditions, surgeries, and treatment methods.

Principal’s Message

Dean Dr. Chandrakant B. Mhaske focuses on creating a learning-friendly environment. His goal is to produce competent, ethical, and compassionate medical professionals who contribute to healthcare improvements. He promotes strong academics along with a practical and patient-centered approach to medical training.

Seats in College

Government Medical College Baramati admits 100 MBBS students every year. It also offers limited postgraduate (MD) programs in Physiology, Community Medicine, and Anaesthesiology. This combination provides both undergraduate and specialized medical training.

The mission of the college is to provide affordable healthcare and high-quality medical education to the people of Baramati and nearby areas. Its vision is to develop modern facilities and adopt innovative learning and treatment techniques across multiple specialties. Fee Structure

The college offers affordable education for medical aspirants. The MBBS program fee for the first year is about ₹1,35,200, and the total tuition fee for the entire course is around ₹5.14 lakh. Hostel accommodation costs about ₹18,000 per year, with a one-time admission fee of ₹2,000. Students from reserved categories benefit from much lower fees, making medical education more accessible.
