About the College

Nandkumar Singh Chouhan Government Medical College Khandwa, commonly known as GMC Khandwa, started in 2018 to enhance healthcare and medical education in Madhya Pradesh. It affiliates with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University Jabalpur and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC). In August 2021, the college received its current name to honor late Shri Nandkumar Singh Chauhan. The 34-acre campus provides a modern, eco-friendly environment with well-ventilated classrooms, equipped laboratories, and a centrally air-conditioned library containing extensive books, journals, and digital resources to support academic growth.

About the Hospital

The teaching hospital attached to the college has 485 beds, with an expansion plan to 750 beds. It offers comprehensive tertiary care, including 24×7 emergency and trauma services, OPD, and IPD facilities. The hospital includes fully air-conditioned ICUs, advanced operation theatres, an NCD Clinic, ECG services, and a blood bank. Students receive hands-on clinical exposure across specialties, ensuring practical experience in patient care and medical procedures under expert supervision.

Principal’s Message

Dean Dr. Sanjay K. Dadu leads the college with a focus on advanced medical knowledge and practical training. The institution aims to prepare future healthcare professionals to handle evolving health challenges effectively while fostering empathy and ethical medical practice. The college emphasizes democratizing healthcare access and building a strong workforce dedicated to serving marginalized communities across Madhya Pradesh.

Seats in College

GMC Khandwa offers 120 MBBS seats each year. The college also provides postgraduate programs (MD/MS) across multiple specialties, including MD Forensic Medicine (2 seats), MS ENT (3 seats), MD Physiology (4 seats), MD Pathology (3 seats), MD Microbiology (5 seats), and MD Community Medicine (6 seats). Nursing and paramedical courses are available to strengthen the allied healthcare workforce and expand learning opportunities for students.

Fee Structure

The MBBS tuition fee is approximately INR 1,00,000 per year. First-year fees, including caution money and other charges, range from INR 1,14,000 to INR 1,27,000. The total tuition fee for the full 5.5-year MBBS course is around INR 4.50 Lakhs to INR 5.38 Lakhs. MD/MS programs cost around INR 1,14,500 annually, with total course fees of INR 3.0 Lakhs to INR 3.18 Lakhs. Hostel fees are about INR 12,000 per year. Eligible students can also apply for scholarships like the Mukhya Mantri Jankalyan Yojana.
