About the College
Government Medical College, Mumbai started in 2024 as one of the newest medical colleges in Maharashtra. It affiliates with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and has recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college is located on the GT Hospital campus at L.T. Marg, giving students direct access to clinical learning along with academic training. It aims to make quality medical education easily available in Mumbai. Because of this approach, students learn modern medical knowledge and practical skills right from the start of their studies.
About the Hospital
GT Hospital, attached to the college, acts as the main teaching hospital. It gives students early and wide clinical exposure across medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and emergency care. Moreover, the hospital supports government health programs and community medical services. These facilities help students understand both preventive and curative aspects of healthcare while building strong clinical skills.
Principal’s Message
Dean Dr. Jitendra T. Sankpal focuses on creating competent doctors with compassion and integrity. He motivates students to innovate, adopt research-based learning, and stay committed to community service. His message highlights leadership and ethical practice as key values for all future medical professionals.
Seats in College
The college admits 50 MBBS students each year through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Out of these, 43 seats are under the Maharashtra State Quota and 7 seats under the All India Quota. Since the college is still new, it does not yet offer postgraduate or super-specialty programs. However, plans for advanced courses are expected in the future.

The mission aims to provide quality medical education and affordable healthcare services. The vision focuses on creating skilled, ethical, and socially responsible doctors. In addition, the college plans to grow as a hub for innovation, research, and urban healthcare solutions.
Fees Structure
The MBBS fee structure follows government norms to keep medical education affordable for all. Hostel facilities inside the campus are available at nominal rates. These facilities, along with financial support options, make education accessible to students from different economic backgrounds.
