About The College
Government Medical College, Rajamahendravaram (East Godavari) began operations in 2023 under the Nadu Nedu initiative of Andhra Pradesh. It affiliates with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and holds National Medical Commission approval. The campus lies next to the Government General Hospital and covers 30 acres with well-developed academic infrastructure.
Students study in smart lecture halls and receive training in modern science laboratories. The college also provides access to a departmental museum, simulation centers, and a digital library. Hostels with secure facilities accommodate both male and female students separately. Faculty deliver training through the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. This model promotes early clinical exposure, structured case-based learning, and regular formative assessments to build clinical thinking from the start.
About The Hospital
The attached Government General Hospital expanded to around 500 beds under recent state health upgrades. It runs departments including General Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, OBG, Orthopedics, ENT, Radiology, Pathology, and Emergency Medicine.
Students actively participate in patient care across outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, diagnostic labs, and minor procedures. Faculty supervise clinical duties, offering students a daily opportunity to observe and learn. The hospital treats patients from urban, rural, and semi-urban areas across East Godavari and nearby districts, giving students rich clinical exposure and hands-on training.

Seats In College
The college offers 150 MBBS seats every year. Admissions follow NEET-UG rankings. Centralized counseling manages the seat allotment with 85% under the state quota and 15% under the All India quota.
