Government Medical College Thrissur began its journey in 1982 and has since grown into one of Kerala’s top centers for medical education. Located in Mulagunnathukavu, about 14 km from Thrissur city, the college spreads across 250+ acres of peaceful, green surroundings. It maintains affiliation with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), which also began operations on this same campus in 2009. Over the years, the college has built a strong reputation for academic strength and healthcare contributions. Seats in College
The college offers 175 MBBS seats each year through NEET UG counseling. Beyond undergraduate training, it provides 143 seats for MD/MS programs in 21 medical specialties. It also runs super-specialty DM and M.Ch courses in select disciplines. This broad academic offering enables students to grow across various stages of their medical careers under expert faculty guidance.

A service bond of ₹5,00,000 for one year of rural duty applies after the completion of PG courses. These figures reflect government norms and may vary slightly depending on quota or category.
