Government Medical College, Pariyaram, located in Kannur, is one of Kerala’s most established medical institutions. Originally founded as the Academy of Medical Sciences (ACME) in 1993 under the cooperative sector, it transitioned to government control in 1995. Since then, it has played a key role in advancing medical education in North Kerala. The college is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur. About the Hospital
The teaching hospital, Pariyaram Medical College Hospital, is a major multi-specialty center with over 1200 beds. The MBBS program at Government Medical College, Pariyaram, admits 100 students each year through the NEET UG entrance exam. The college also offers several MD/MS courses in major disciplines like General Medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology, Orthopaedics, and Surgery.
