Great Eastern Medical School and Hospital (GEMS), located in Ragolu village near Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, began its academic journey in 2010. The college functions under the Aditya Educational Society and holds affiliation with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Recognized by the National Medical Commission, GEMS initially offered 100 MBBS seats and expanded to 150 seats from the 2020–21 academic session. The campus spans a scenic environment and features modern lecture halls, digital classrooms, an extensive library, and separate hostels for male and female students.
About the Hospital
The attached multi-specialty teaching hospital includes around 300 beds and serves as the practical training hub for GEMS students. It houses a fully equipped ICU, five advanced operation theatres, and specialist doctors available 24/7. The hospital delivers affordable healthcare to nearby rural communities while simultaneously ensuring in-depth clinical exposure. Students actively participate in departments such as general medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, gaining vital hands-on experience in patient care.
