About the College
Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital (SBMC), located in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, started in 2019. This government-run college operates under the affiliation of Vinoba Bhave University. It has approval from the National Medical Commission and offers the MBBS course. The campus provides students with modern academic infrastructure. About the Hospital
SBMC runs its clinical services through the upgraded Sadar Hospital, which now serves as the main teaching hospital with 340 beds. This facility houses all core departments and offers 24/7 emergency medical services. ICUs, NICUs, and PICUs ensure critical care delivery. A new 500-bed modern hospital is under construction near Central Jail, Hazaribagh. Once complete, it will boost capacity and expand specialty care. The hospital continues to serve as a critical training hub for students and a healthcare lifeline for the district.

Seats in College
SBMC Hazaribagh admits 100 students every year into its MBBS program. Admission takes place through NEET-UG based on national merit. Currently, the college does not offer postgraduate medical courses, but it plans to expand academic offerings as infrastructure grows.
