About the College
Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital, Rourkela, started in 2009 under the Vigyan Bharati Charitable Trust. It became the second private medical institution established by the Hi-Tech Group in Odisha. The college operates under affiliation with Odisha University of Health Sciences and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission. It offers 100 MBBS seats each year. The campus includes lecture theatres, dissection halls, simulation and skill labs, demonstration rooms, a central library, and gender-segregated hostels. The college follows the competency-based medical education (CBME) model set by the NMC, blending strong academic instruction with hands-on training and early clinical involvement.
About the Hospital
The teaching hospital offers 400 beds and serves both urban and tribal populations in and around Rourkela. The hospital runs departments including General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Community Medicine. Students work directly in inpatient wards, outpatient departments, operating rooms, and emergency services. They train under senior faculty in real-time clinical environments, including ICUs, modular OTs, radiology and pathology labs, and 24/7 trauma units.
