Admission Process for Foreign Students

SDM College of Ayurveda welcomes foreign or NRI students for both undergraduate (BAMS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) programs. For BAMS, candidates must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and secured a minimum of 50% marks. Importantly, eligibility in NEET-UG is mandatory, even for foreign applicants.

For postgraduate MD/MS courses, applicants must hold a BAMS degree from a recognized institution and qualify in AIAPGET. Foreign students must also present an equivalent qualification approved by the university.

Admission is conducted via counseling:

  • BAMS admissions are based on NEET scores through centralized counseling—state quota by KEA or management/NRI quota via the college.

Hostel and Cultural Support

While specific cultural support details for foreign students are limited, information on hostel infrastructure applies broadly and includes the following:

  • Accommodation: Separate hostels for boys and girls with twin-sharing and triple-sharing rooms, furnished with wardrobes, cots, study tables, and chairs. Each also includes featured amenities like prayer rooms, guest rooms, and hot water availability.
  • Food: Vegetarian, hygienic meals served in a dedicated mess and dining hall with monitoring and student involvement.
  • Facilities: For the campus, more structured hospitality includes separate, secure hostels, with non-AC rooms, shared or single occupancy, and amenities like Wi-Fi, gym, and water coolers.

These facilities are designed to make international students feel secure and supported during their stay.

Alumni Stories

Direct narratives of international alumni from SDM College are currently not available through official sources. However, the strong academic, clinical, and cultural environment at SDM—combined with its established reputation—has led to many graduates pursuing Ayurveda careers globally.

Prof. Gurdip Singh, a Padma Shri awardee, contributes to the broader SDM educational ecosystem. His exact campus affiliation remains unconfirmed, but his presence highlights the global caliber of Ayurveda professionals connected to the institution’s legacy.

Global Recognition of Degrees

SDM awards degrees recognized by the Ministry of AYUSH and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. This affiliation makes BAMS and postgraduate qualifications credible and accepted worldwide. SDM designs its programs to meet Indian regulatory standards while aligning with global expectations. Graduates can pursue careers in wellness, research, and healthcare across the world.
