About the College

The Vokkaligara Sangha established Kempegowda Institute Medical Sciences (KIMS) in 1980 in Bangalore, Karnataka. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) granted affiliation, and the National Medical Commission (NMC) recognized the institution. KIMS provides MBBS and MD/MS programs that emphasize both clinical skills and ethical values. Moreover, the college creates a learning environment where students grow into competent professionals who serve with integrity and compassion.

About the Hospital

KIMS operates a centrally located multi-specialty hospital in Bangalore. This hospital offers services in Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Preventive Medicine, and Forensic Medicine. It runs with 1,070 beds, ensuring a wide variety of clinical cases. Students engage directly in patient care, participate in surgical procedures, and gain essential hands-on experience every day. Likewise, they learn to diagnose and treat patients under expert supervision across multiple departments.

MBBS Seats in College

Kempegowda Institute Medical Sciences admits 250 MBBS students annually. The seat matrix includes:

  • 60 seats under the Government quota
  • 60 seats under the Private quota
  • 30 seats under the NRI/OCI quota

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) manages the seat allocation process through NEET-UG rankings. Therefore, candidates must register on time and complete document verification to secure admission.
