‌Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2025 for Private Colleges

Maharashtra is a closed state, so only Maharashtra domicile students can apply for state quota MBBS seats. However, institutional quota seats remain open to students from other states, although these seats cost more.

Most colleges charge ₹7–16 lakhs per year. Many private colleges have a fee range of ₹7–12 lakhs annually, and only a few charge more than ₹12 lakhs. For colleges with fees between ₹7–12 lakhs, students need a NEET score of 530+ in General and OBC categories. In comparison, colleges with fees around ₹16+ lakhs accept students with scores of 350+ and above.

Maharashtra NEET Eligibility Criteria

Students must meet these criteria to join Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2025:

General Eligibility

  • Indian citizenship required.

  • Must qualify NEET UG 2025 with the required cutoff.

  • Must pass Class 10 and 12 from a recognized board.

  • For state quota seats, a valid Maharashtra domicile certificate is mandatory.

State Quota Eligibility
Students who studied Class 10 outside Maharashtra must also:

  • Pass Class 12 from Maharashtra.

  • Hold a valid Maharashtra domicile certificate.

Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2025 Process

The entire counselling takes place online through cetcell.mahacet.org.

Step 1: Registration
Visit the official website and choose “Apply Online for NEET UG 2025 Counselling.” Enter NEET roll number, application number, and personal details. Upload documents and pay the counselling fee.

Step 2: Document Verification & Merit List
Officials verify all uploaded documents. After that, they release a provisional merit list with the names of eligible students.

Step 3: Choice Filling & Locking
Students select their preferred colleges and courses based on NEET rank. After submission, no further edits are possible.

Step 4: Seat Allotment
Authorities allot seats based on NEET score, category, seat availability, and preferences. Students either accept the seat or choose an upgrade option.

Step 5: Reporting to College
Students report to their allotted college within the deadline. They submit original documents and pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.

Retention Form / After Allotment

  • Situation 1: Students satisfied with their Round 1 seat download the admission letter, report to the college, and submit the retention form by the deadline.

  • Situation 2: Students who want an upgrade also report to the college with their admission letter. If upgraded in Round 2, their previous seat automatically cancels.

  • Situation 3: Students who reject or cancel their Round 1 seat cannot take part in further CAP or mop-up rounds.

  • Situation 4: Students not accepting any seat or opting out leave the admission process entirely.

Maharashtra MBBS Merit List 2025

The admission authority will release the merit list in PDF format. Only students who register and meet all eligibility rules will be included in the Maharashtra MBBS 2025 merit list.
