NEET Chapter Wise Weightage for 2026, by analysing 2025 PDF by NTA: Physics, Chemistry & Biology
Why Chapter-Wise Weightage Matters?
NEET 2025 Chapter-wise Weightage: Plan Smart, Study Right
Knowing which chapters carry more weight in NEET can boost your preparation strategy. Even though the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not officially shared chapter-wise weightage, expert reviews of the NEET 2025 paper held on May 4 provide strong clues. These expert insights show which topics appeared more often and which ones had fewer questions.
This year’s NEET exam was tougher than last year. Many students found the paper highly challenging, mainly because it focused on application-based and analytical questions. Those with strong concepts had the upper hand. So, if you’re preparing for NEET 2026, understanding which chapters matter most will help you save time and effort.
While the official NEET chapter-wise weightage PDF hasn’t been released, subject experts have broken down the NEET 2025 paper thoroughly. Based on their analysis, we’ve listed the expected weightage chapter by chapter. You can use this information to figure out which areas to give more time and which ones to cover briefly. But don’t rely on this list alone. NEET doesn’t follow a fixed pattern every year. That’s why it’s important to cover the entire syllabus with at least basic understanding of each topic.
Concept clarity always beats rote learning in NEET. So instead of memorizing facts, try to understand the logic behind each concept. This approach will help you tackle even the trickiest questions with confidence.
We’ve also added the subject-wise difficulty level for NEET 2025. It shows how Physics, Chemistry, and Biology performed this year in terms of complexity and question types. With NEET 2026 expected in the first week of May, now is the perfect time to focus on smart preparation.
Take a look at the complete chapter-wise weightage based on NEET 2025. Use it as a guide, not a rule. Build your timetable with the right balance of revision, mock tests, and concept-building. Your best score begins with the right strategy.

The NEET 2025 exam pattern was changed and revised to that of the pre-COVID era. The optional questions were removed, reducing the total number of questions to 180 from 200. The duration has also been reduced to 180 minutes or three hours from 200 minutes.
The following table indicates the sections of the NEET exam pattern, NEET subject list, NEET subject-wise weightage, and the distribution of marks.
Subject | Number of Questions | Marks |
Physics | 45 | 180 |
Chemistry | 45 | 180 |
Botany | 45 | 180 |
Zoology | 45 | 180 |
Total | 180 | 720 |
It is expected that the NEET 2026 exam pattern will be the same as last year. It can be confirmed once NTA releases the NEET 2026 information bulletin or notification.
