About the College
PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital (PIMC), situated at 9th Mile, Khanapara on Kling Road, Baridua in the Ri Bhoi District, began its MBBS program in 2024. The institution operates as a collaboration between the Government of Meghalaya and the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), which holds NAAC “A” grade accreditation. This initiative marks the first private medical college in the state. The campus spreads across scenic terrain enriched with medicinal flora and includes smart classrooms, well-equipped simulation facilities, modern skill labs, departmental museums, and a digital library. The college adopts the Competency Based Medical Education curriculum, emphasizing early clinical exposure, hands-on learning, and problem-solving through patient-focused cases. PIMC positions itself as a modern medical education hub in Northeast India.
About the Hospital
PIMC features an on-campus teaching hospital with 605 beds. The hospital houses general wards, ICUs, high dependency units, emergency services, modular operation theaters, a central clinical lab, and modern diagnostic systems. Facilities include X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, and dedicated departments in cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, urology, CTVS, and gastroenterology. The hospital serves both rural and urban communities across Meghalaya and Assam. Plans are underway for a 1,100-bed super specialty hospital to strengthen future healthcare delivery and training infrastructure, ensuring that students receive extensive clinical exposure in a wide range of specialties.

Seats in College
PA Sangma International Medical College offers 150 MBBS seats every academic year. Admissions take place through NEET UG, followed by counseling conducted by the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Meghalaya. The distribution includes 64 seats under the state quota, 63 under the management quota, and 23 seats reserved for the NRI category. Stray and vacancy rounds are filled according to state guidelines.

Fees Structure
The annual fee under the state quota is ₹4,95,000. Students under the management quota pay ₹18,00,000 per year. For NRI candidates, the full course fee amounts to USD 200,000. The college permits fee payment via demand draft, NEFT, or RTGS.
