About the college
Shantabaa Medical College and General Hospital, located in Amreli, Gujarat, launched its MBBS program in 2017 under the Gajera Trust. In 2018, the college transitioned into a public–private partnership (PPP) model in collaboration with the Gujarat Government, aimed at expanding access to medical education across the Saurashtra region. The college holds academic affiliation with Saurashtra University and is recognized by the National Medical Commission.
Spread across 23 acres, the academic block includes smart classrooms, interactive demonstration rooms, a modern digital library, and skill labs aligned with the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) framework. Students follow an academic plan that emphasizes small-group learning, continuous assessment, and structured hands-on training. The curriculum focuses on clinical relevance from the first year, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical exposure.
About the hospital
The college’s general hospital functions as a 700+ bed teaching facility that supports real-world clinical training. It includes departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Radiology. Students participate in daily ward work, outpatient services, and inpatient care under the guidance of senior faculty.
The hospital handles high patient flow across outpatient and inpatient units, critical care, and emergency services. This gives students access to varied clinical cases, especially from the rural and semi-urban populations it serves.
