About the College

Shri Ramkrishna Institute of Medical Sciences & Sanaka Hospitals, based in Durgapur, West Bengal, began its operations in 2017 under the Sri Ramakrishna Educational Trust. The institution functions under the affiliation of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission. It offers the MBBS program with 150 seats annually. The modern campus features digital lecture halls, anatomy and simulation labs, a central library, and separate hostels for boys and girls. The college adopts the NMC-prescribed CBME curriculum, which integrates theoretical foundations, early clinical exposure, and practical training from the beginning of the program.

About the Hospital

The college operates in association with Sanaka Hospitals, a 750-bed multi-specialty teaching facility. It serves Durgapur and nearby districts through a wide range of clinical departments, including Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Community Medicine. Hospital infrastructure includes modular operation theaters, intensive care units, diagnostic laboratories, radiology services, and a 24-hour emergency department. Medical students receive consistent clinical exposure through outpatient services, ward rounds, emergency duty, and community outreach programs, all under expert supervision.

Seats in College

The college offers 150 MBBS seats each year through the NEET-UG examination. The seat allocation process follows West Bengal state counselling norms. Seats are divided among state quota, management quota, and NRI quota, in line with official policies.
