About the College
SMBT Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre began in 2014 under the leadership of the Sevabhavi Trust. The National Medical Commission approved the institution SMBT Igatpuri medical college , and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, grants its academic affiliation. Located on Nandihills in Igatpuri taluka, the campus lies amid the scenic backdrop of Kadwa and Darna dams, in a predominantly tribal region. The 25-acre campus houses academic blocks, department-specific laboratories, e-enabled lecture halls, a simulation and skills lab, and a well-stocked central library. The college also offers a modern sports complex, research facilities, a large auditorium, and separate hostel facilities for male and female students. SMBT admits 150 students each year into its MBBS program through NEET UG, with seats divided into state, institutional, and NRI quotas. It also offers 43 MD/MS postgraduate seats across approximately 10 clinical and para-clinical disciplines.
About the Hospital
SMBT Hospital, one of North Maharashtra’s largest charitable institutions, operates with a flexible bed strength of 750 to 1,150 beds. The hospital delivers comprehensive services including ICU, PICU, NICU, trauma care, 24/7 emergency, modular operation theatres, NABL-accredited labs, a cath lab, dialysis, blood bank, and CT/MRI imaging. The hospital collaborates with national centers like Tata Memorial Centre for oncology services. It offers free OPD care and records over 2,000 OPD/IPD cases daily. Seats in College
SMBT admits 150 MBBS students per year. Seat allocation includes 70 percent for the state quota, 15 percent for the institutional quota, and 15 percent for NRI students. The college also offers 43 MD/MS postgraduate seats across departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, and other major specialties.

Institutional quota students pay ₹27 lakh per year, and NRI candidates pay ₹58 lakh annually. Hostel and mess costs total ₹2 lakh per year for MBBS students. The total annual MBBS cost, including deposits and development charges, reaches around ₹15.22 lakh for the general category. For postgraduate students, tuition varies: state quota costs about ₹13.78 lakh per year, institutional quota costs range from ₹55 to ₹60 lakh annually, and NRI fees lie between ₹68 to ₹75 lakh per year depending on the specialty.
