Tezpur Medical College & Hospital started operations in 2013 and became Assam’s sixth government medical college. Tezpur Medical College offers 125 MBBS seats annually. This includes the base intake of 100 plus additional seats under the EWS quota. Admission is based on NEET-UG scores, with 15% of seats allocated under the All India Quota and the remaining 85% through Assam’s state counseling process. The institution follows government reservation rules for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories. The MBBS course runs for 4.5 years followed by a compulsory one-year rotating internship. The college also offers postgraduate programs in multiple departments such as pediatrics, radiology, general medicine, surgery, anesthesia, and OBGY.
