About the College

Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh Memorial Medical College started in 1984 under the Shri Shivaji Education Society in Amravati. The college works under the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and holds approval from the National Medical Commission. The institute follows the competency-based MBBS curriculum and takes in 150 students every year. The seat distribution includes 128 through state quota and 22 through NRI quota. The college also runs postgraduate courses (MD/MS) in 15 different specialties with 53 total seats. Students study on a 37-acre campus that includes modern academic blocks, digital classrooms, subject-wise laboratories, a central library, and separate hostels for boys and girls.

About the Hospital

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hospital & Research Centre began in 1990 and runs with 770 beds across 28 indoor wards. The emergency wing includes 30 beds for trauma and critical care. The hospital operates ICUs like NICU, PICU, SICU, and also houses NABL-accredited labs, a blood bank, dialysis units, organ transplant facilities, modular operation theaters, and a human milk bank. The emergency department and ambulance service work round the clock. Students actively engage in OPD and IPD rounds, skill labs, and supervised clinical care to build hands-on knowledge.

Seats in College

The MBBS program admits 150 students annually through NEET-UG and Maharashtra State CET Cell counselling. Of these, 85 percent fall under the state quota and 15 percent are reserved for NRI candidates. Postgraduate training includes 53 MD/MS seats across 15 specializations, contributing to an academically dynamic environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate scholars.
