About The College
Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation Medical College began operations in 2003, founded under the Padmashree Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation in Ahmednagar. The college reflects the vision of Padma Shri awardee Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, who believed in empowering rural India through education. The campus spreads over 33 acres in Vilad Ghat and has followed the competency-based MBBS curriculum since its inception. It holds recognition from the National Medical Commission and affiliation with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Each year, 150 students gain MBBS admission through NEET-UG, with 85% of seats filled under state quota and 15% under NRI and international categories. About The Hospital
The college runs its medical training alongside the Dr Vikhe Patil Memorial Hospital, which spans 25 acres and operates nearly 990 beds. It includes adult ICU, NICU, PICU, cath lab, trauma services, NABL-accredited labs, dialysis facilities, modular OTs, MRI/CT scan units, a physiotherapy department, and a functional blood bank. The hospital serves as a major center for both urban and rural medical care. Moreover, it supports health outreach through urban and rural training centers and mobile medical units. Furthermore, the college offers postgraduate MD/MS courses across 10 to 15 medical specialties. Each academic session admits approximately 29 to 39 PG students depending on discipline availability.
