About The College
Guntur Medical College started in 1946 and stands at the core of Guntur city. The college affiliates with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and holds approval from the National Medical Commission. The urban campus spans 67 acres with a rich academic and clinical environment.
Students attend smart classrooms and train in high-tech laboratories and simulation centers. The college also includes a departmental museum, central digital library with over 28,000 books, and a fully air-conditioned auditorium with 900 seats. Separate hostels house both male and female students. Faculty follow the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) model. This curriculum focuses on case-based learning, structured assessments, and early patient exposure to build clinical decision-making from the first year.

Guntur Medical College partners with Government General Hospital, a major tertiary care facility. The hospital operates with a capacity of 1,170 to 1,500 beds. It hosts departments such as Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Radiology, Pathology, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care.
Students receive training in both general and super-specialty departments like Cardiology, Nephrology, Pediatric Surgery, and Neurosurgery. Every day, they rotate through OPDs, inpatient units, emergency care, diagnostics, and procedures. With large patient inflow from coastal districts, students gain broad clinical experience that sharpens their knowledge and skills.

Seats In College
Guntur Medical College offers 250 MBBS seats every year. Admission depends on NEET-UG scores through centralized counseling. The allotment includes 85% for the state quota and 15% for the All India quota. The college does not reserve seats for private or NRI quota.
