About the College

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College (NSCB Medical College), Jabalpur, started in 1955 and stands as the second oldest medical college in Madhya Pradesh. It began as Government Medical College, inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and later received its current name in honor of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The college holds affiliation with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, and recognition from the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The campus features modern lecture halls, advanced laboratories, and a fully equipped central library. Moreover, the institution focuses on research and innovation, which helps students gain knowledge beyond textbooks. As a result, NSCB Medical College continues to rank among the top medical colleges in central India.

About the Hospital

The college hospital has about 940 beds, including a 220-bed super-specialty unit. Some sources also note that the bed count exceeds 1,000. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and trauma services, along with specialty and super-specialty care. Additionally, Rani Durgavati Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital offer specialized training. Because of these facilities, students gain exposure to diverse cases and hands-on clinical experience.

Principal Mrs. Shashi Khare leads the college with a clear focus on excellence in medical education and healthcare delivery. Seats in College

The MBBS program admits 250 students each year. The postgraduate program offers 186 seats in MD/MS specialties, while the super-specialty program (DM/M.Ch.) has 2 seats. In addition, diploma programs in Medical Lab Technology, ECG Technician, and Blood Transfusion, as well as M.Sc. Nursing, expand academic opportunities for students.

Fees Structure

The MBBS tuition fee ranges from INR 1,00,000 to INR 1,02,146 per year, totaling between INR 4.63 Lakhs and INR 5.23 Lakhs. Postgraduate fees range from INR 1,00,000 to INR 1,33,000 per year, with total costs of about INR 3.60 Lakhs. Super-specialty (M.Ch.) courses cost around INR 1,04,796 annually. Hostel fees range from INR 12,000 to INR 18,000. A one-year rural service bond applies, with a penalty of INR 10,00,000 for MBBS and PG graduates who do not complete the service.
