It is affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, and receives recognition from the National Medical Commission. About the Hospital
The college operates in conjunction with General Hospital, Himmatnagar, which functions as its teaching hospital. The hospital delivers comprehensive services across departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics. In addition, it runs 24/7 emergency care and diagnostic units. As the hospital serves a large regional population, it offers MBBS students continuous clinical exposure. This experience helps them build strong diagnostic, communication, and decision-making skills early in their medical training.

GMERS Himmatnagar currently offers 200 MBBS seats annually. This number was increased from an earlier intake to meet growing demand for medical professionals in the region. Admission takes place through NEET UG based on merit. Out of the total seats, 85% are allocated to the Gujarat State Quota, while 15% are reserved under the All India Quota. The seat distribution complies with reservation policies as mandated by government authorities, ensuring broad and fair access.
