Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), situated in Raichur, Karnataka, was established in 2007 as an autonomous government medical college. It functions under the Government of Karnataka and maintains affiliation with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru. Recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the college strictly adheres to national standards for medical education.
RIMS occupies a 31 to 58-acre campus that supports academic growth with modern infrastructure. About the Hospital
RIMS integrates with a 500 to 520-bedded teaching hospital, which forms the core of its clinical training setup. Additionally, the Raichur Government Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) contributes another 350 beds. These facilities serve as vital healthcare hubs for Raichur and its nearby rural areas.
The hospital houses over 10 operation theatres and provides care through various departments such as General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, ENT, and OBG. It also includes dedicated ICUs like Burn ICU and Pediatric ICU. Diagnostic services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, and a full-fledged lab system. Round-the-clock trauma care, emergency services, and support units like eye and blood banks ensure hands-on training for students across specialties.
