Step-by-Step NEET 2026 Counselling Process
1Check Your NEET Rank & Category

2Register on the Official Counselling Portal

3Strategic Choice Filling ā The Most Critical Step
Choice filling is where most students make costly errors. You must enter preferences in a priority order.
4Seat Allotment & Decision
After choice filling closes, the system allots a seat based on rank and preferences. You will have three options upon receiving an allotment:
Accept & Join
Satisfied with the allotment. Pay the seat acceptance fee and report to the college. You forfeit participation in subsequent rounds.
Upgrade & Continue
Accept the current seat but remain in the pool for a better seat in the next round. Your current seat is held as security.
Reject / Not Report
Reject the allotment and exit counselling. You lose the registration fee and forfeit all further allotments in that round type.

Did not get any seat in Round 1. Re-register for Round 2 with an updated strategy based on Round 1 data.
