About the College
Government Medical College (GMC) Miraj began in 1962 and has grown into one of Maharashtra’s reputed medical institutions. Located in Sangli, it is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The campus spreads over 34.3 acres and features modern classrooms, advanced laboratories, and a central library. The college aims to deliver quality medical education and provide skilled doctors to serve society.
About the Hospital
GMC Miraj runs a major teaching hospital that includes the Government Medical College and Hospital, Miraj, and the P.V.P. Government Hospital, Sangli. This hospital network has specialized ICUs, CCUs, modern operation theaters, and dedicated specialty departments like Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology. It provides round-the-clock emergency services and quality medical care to a large population, giving students excellent clinical exposure.

Seats in College
GMC Miraj offers 200 MBBS seats each year. It also provides MD and MS postgraduate programs with 47 total PG seats, along with PG Diplomas and BSc and MSc paramedical courses. This range of programs allows students to pursue both general and specialized medical careers.

Reserved category students often pay reduced fees as per government rules.
