About ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences Haldia

ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences & Research began in 2011 in Haldia, located in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. The Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE), a registered charitable trust, established the institution. The college maintains affiliation with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and holds recognition from the National Medical Commission. With a focus on ethical medical training, the campus includes digital lecture halls, advanced labs, a central library, modern hostels, and well-equipped pre-clinical and para-clinical departments. The MBBS program enrolls 150 students annually and follows the NMC-guided competency-based curriculum.

About the Teaching Hospital

Students receive clinical exposure at Dr. B. C. Roy Hospital, a 500-bed multi-specialty center that operates as the college’s teaching hospital. Departments include General Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Community Medicine. The hospital features modular operation theatres, ICUs, 24/7 emergency services, diagnostic labs, and a blood bank. Students gain real-time training in patient care, clinical rounds, and internships under professional medical guidance.

Seats in College

ICARE Institute admits 150 MBBS students each year. Admissions take place based on NEET-UG performance through the West Bengal state counselling system. Seat allocation follows norms for state quota, management quota, and NRI category admissions.
