About the College

Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), established in 2020, functions under Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and offers India’s first exclusive MBBS program for women. Located in Lavale, Pune, the college operates on a 350-acre eco-friendly campus. It follows the National Medical Commission’s competency-based curriculum. SMCW admits 150 MBBS students annually through NEET UG counselling, with 127 seats for domestic candidates and 23 for NRI students. The academic infrastructure includes lecture theatres, digital and anatomical labs, simulation facilities, a central library, research zones, and well-secured women-only hostels. The institution combines professional education with personal growth, ensuring women receive equal opportunities in clinical and leadership domains.

About the Hospital

Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre (SUHRC), the attached teaching hospital, features approximately 900 beds and supports both specialty and super-specialty services. It provides continuous clinical exposure across departments like medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, cardiology, emergency care, critical care, and trauma. Facilities include modular OTs, ICUs, NICU, PICU, cath lab, NABL-accredited labs, MRI, and CT. SUHRC caters to the healthcare needs of the surrounding rural population and the Symbiosis community, strengthening the students’ real-world medical training through hands-on patient interaction from early academic stages.

Principal’s Message

Seats in College

SMCW offers 150 MBBS seats filled through NEET UG counselling under MCC. Out of these, 127 seats are allocated for Indian nationals and 23 for NRI candidates. The college does not currently offer postgraduate programs such as MD, MS, or diploma courses.

Additional charges include hostel fees of ₹1.39 lakh per year (triple sharing), mess fees of ₹94,500, and refundable deposits of ₹15,000 (hostel) and ₹50,000 (security). This comprehensive fee structure ensures high-quality residential and academic facilities.
