About the College
Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, started on May 1, 1948, as the first medical college set up by the Armed Forces in Asia. It stands as one of India’s top medical institutions for education and research. AFMC, affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), trains students to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). The institute focuses on producing doctors with high professional and ethical standards who can handle modern medical challenges with confidence.
About the Hospital
AFMC connects students with some of the best hospitals, including Command Hospital (Southern Command), Army Institute of Cardio-Thoracic Sciences (AICTS), Military Hospital Kirkee, Artificial Limb Centre, and Cantonment General Hospital, Pune. These hospitals allow students to gain hands-on experience, learn advanced treatment methods, and serve patients effectively. Seats in College
AFMC offers 150 MBBS seats every year, including 115 for boys, 30 for girls, and 5 for sponsored foreign students. It also has 40 seats for B.Sc. Nursing and many seats for postgraduate, super specialty, and doctoral programs. This balanced seat distribution supports a wide range of medical education opportunities.

Fee Structure
AFMC maintains affordable fees. The MBBS program costs about ₹64,950 for the full 5.5-year course. The B.Sc. Nursing program charges nearly ₹8,000 for the four-year duration. Hostel fees stand at around ₹20,400 annually, and students often receive free accommodation after the initial shared arrangement, making it budget-friendly for all.
