About the College
Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Government Medical College (VMGMC), Solapur, began in 1963 under the guidance of Dr. Vishnu Ganesh Vaishampayan. It later came under the Government of Maharashtra in 1977. Affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), VMGMC offers a strong platform for medical education and healthcare. The college consistently contributes to producing skilled healthcare professionals and improving medical services in the region.
About the Hospital
VMGMC works with Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sarvopchar Rugnalaya (Civil Hospital), which has more than 700 beds. This multi-specialty hospital provides patient care across various disciplines and gives students access to practical learning in ICUs, NICUs, PICUs, operation theaters, and diagnostic labs. The hospital ensures students gain essential hands-on experience while serving a large patient population.
